Helsinki Airport Train

Train connection between Helsinki city centre and Helsinki Airport is carried out by local commuter trains which run every 10 minutes on peak hours.

Travel time from Airport Train Station to Helsinki Central Station is about 30 minutes.

There are two train lines serving Helsinki Airport to city centre:

I train

Runs via Huopalahti to Helsinki Central Station.

Stops: Helsinki – Tikkurila – Airport – Myyrmäki – Helsinki

P train

Runs the opposite direction, to Helsinki Central Station via Tikkurila.

Stops: Helsinki – Myyrmäki – Airport – Tikkurila Helsinki

Tikkurila Railway Station is located 8 km from HEL Airport.

Nearly all long-distance and most commuter trains stop at Tikkurila.

Helsinki Train Station to Airport

I and P trains cover the Ring Rail between the city centre and Helsinki Airport.

Trains depart from platform 16 to 18 from Helsinki Central Railway Station.

It is needed an ABC zone ticket to travel between Helsinki Train Station and the airport.

Other trains

There are also other trains that run to Finnish cities as Lahti or Tampere and other ones connected to Russian cities such as Moscow or Saint Petersburg (Allegro train).

Tikkurila Railway Station

Nearly all long-distance and most commuter trains stops at Tikkurila. Check all trains stopping at Tikkurila here.

Helsinki Central Station

Most of the trains departing from Helsinki Central Station also stops on Tikkurila. Check trains here.

Location

The train station is located on the arrivals floor, at the corridor between Terminals 1 and 2.

Fares

Single ticket fare from Helsinki Airport to city centre is € 4.10 (mobile), € 4.10 (HSL card), € 4.10 (ticket machine), € 6.00 (from the bus driver).

Please note it is needed a ticket to the ABC zone to travel between Helsinki Airport and the city centre.

Where do I buy my ticket?

Train tickets are sold at HSL ticket machines located on both train and bus stations, Alepa Grocery store, WH Smith, R-kiosk, Tourist information and also through HSL Mobile ticket app.
